My years of experience training for pro football have taught me that sometimes simple, straightforward and intense is the best kind of workout to really wake your muscles up and work them for all they're worth! Try to truly focus on your form with the Bird Dogs - it's really important to resist lateral movement, and to keep a strong and neutral spine and a straight line through your extended limbs, parallel to the ground.
